We had a fantastic afternoon with some great tennis and the sun really shone for us!

The men's singles was a real marathon match, which could have gone either way, but our new mens champ 2011 is Jean Jo who managed to take the title from James who had retained it for several years. I'm sure he'll be back again next year to reclaim it!

Kana retained her title in the ladies singles, playing some great tennis against our runner-up, Helen Cooper. Kana then went on to win the mixed doubles with one of our younger members, Will Timbrell, against Julia and Tony. This match unfortunately finished with Tony sustaining a nasty injury, so the men's doubles is yet again postponed until all players are fit and healthy!

On the following Tuesday Kana completed the triple and won the ladies doubles with Carol Minnion against Helen and Clare Coward. This was another great match to watch but Kana and Carol's determination to keep their title won the day!

Thank you to all of you who took part in the championships and we look forward to repeating it all again next year!

On Friday 4th November, before we held our official firework display we enjoyed more fireworks on court when the Mens Doubles finals between Ed/Jean Jo and Jon/Tony was eventually played.

This resulted in Ed and Jean Jo being victorious in two straight sets and taking the Doubles Championship title for 2011
